Established in 1983, Active is a leading distributor of quality electronic components, wiring and custom-manufactured solutions. We are a key partner for electronic manufacturers in the Asia Pacific region. We offer components to serve a range of projects, anything from basic SMT products to complex custom solutions in the electronics and electrical markets. Our customers range from well-known corporations to emerging enterprises.

Components

Components are fundamental to every electronic design and a key pillar of Active’s services. We stock a wide and ever-increasing range of electronic components across all the key categories required for electronics manufacturing. We also source to demand the right parts needed for your project. Components are despatched ex-stock from our warehouses in New Zealand and Hong Kong.

Our experience sales team can assist engineers in product selection as we have an extensice knowledge of the types of components available.

Active has an extensive reange of terminations and cable specs available, enabling us to provide anything from a simple appliance wire to a complex multicore assembly. Customisation options include over-moulding, UL approval, special terminations, core colour and text customisation, potting and extensive QC processes.

We also solve many issues manufacturers face in sourcing the components by integrating our logistics and supply chain into the final offering. We can ship the final assemblies anywhere in the world from our central location in Hong Kong.

Custom solutions

Active is in a unique position to support custom wire harness projects. We have excellent partnerships with the wire harness manufacturers and deep supply chain and logistics setup that enables us to provide solutions for all our customer’s wiring and cabling needs. Not only can we produce components to match exact engineering specifications, but our expert team can also recommend design improvements.

Supply chain

Product logistics team (Hong Kong)

Stock is consolidated through the Hong Kong Warehouse.

Weekly air freight consolidated shipments are also available out of our Hong Kong warehouse.

We ship to Australia and global customers from the Hong Kong warehouse.

Stock is shipped to NZ fortnightly in 20’ or 40’ containers. Bulk of stock is held in our Albany warehouse. We do also hold stock of finished goods and raw material in our HK warehouse. We offer stock management servies through buffer and forecast requirements.

Our awards

In October 1994, the company was awarded ISO9001. It’s in our DNA to constantly improve our service delivery. In 1997 this was recognised when Active was awarded the prestigious Quality Company Award at the annual New Zealand Electronics Industry Awards. Since then, Active has won multiple awards at the Gallagher Group Supplier of the Year Awards, which is one of the biggest honours for the New Zealand electronics market. We have won awards for Outstanding Account Management, Customer Service and Supplier of the Year. In 2019 Active was a finalist at the NZCTA Business Awards in recognition for our achievements in developing supply partnerships.

Global Reach

We are an independent wholesale electronic components distributor and provider of custom solutions with regional bases across Asia-Pacific. We currently distribute to customers in the US, Asia and Europe.
